I obtained my Ph.D. in applied mathematics from the University of Illinois at Chicago in July 2022 and am working as a research scientist at MTRI. My advisor was David Nicholls. My research interests include numerical partial differential equations, acoustics and electromagnetics, root-finding algorithms, and calculating zeros of the Riemann zeta function. I am also interested in water waves, parallel computing, and various applications of fluid mechanics. My M.S. advisor was Frank Massey and I worked on computing zeros of the Riemann zeta function through the Riemann-Siegel formula. My Ph.D. thesis was on a numerical implementation of linear waves in a multilayered periodic structure (Defense slides). For more information, please see my CV and my research statement. I am also on LinkedIn, participate in Math Overflow and Mathematics Stack Exchange, and sometimes update my math blog.

About me: Outside of math, I am also interested in running, playing badminton and tennis, and computer programming. I participated in the Chicago Half Marathon in Fall 2021 and plan to run a full marathon in Fall 2022. I also enjoy solving the mathematical/computer programming exercises on Project Euler and used to play Dungeons and Dragons (my favorite game was Baldur's Gate II). I tend to spend a lot of time reading and enjoy the books by John Grisham and Sky and Telescope.
