Project (due April 20, 2012)
This project is due on the day of the third midterm (April 20, 2012).
Use a spreadsheet (e.g. Excel) for the following problems.
- In the elections of 2009 the 300 seats of the greek parliament were split in the following way: 160 PASOK (Panhellenic Socialist Movement), 91 ND (New Democracy), 21 KKE (Communist Party of Greece), 15 LAOS (Popular Orthodox Rally), and 13 SYRIZA (Coalition of the Radical Left). Draw a pie chart to illustrate the division of the greek parliament after the elections of 2009.
- A survey of 2000 people that was conducted in March of 2012 in Greece shows the preference of the voters for the upcoming elections. Out of the 2000 people asked: 362 prefer ND (New Democracy), 286 PASOK (Panhellenic Socialist Movement), 164 KKE (Communist Party of Greece), 144 IG (Independent Greeks), 120 SYRIZA (Coalition of the Radical Left), 98 DL (Democratic Left), 72 LAOS (Popular Orthodox Rally), 68 GD (Golden Dawn), 46 DISY (Democratic Alliance), 502 UND (declared undecided), and 138 OTH (all other parties).
