My name is Eun Hye Lee, a math Ph.D. student in University of Illinois at Chicago.
I am currently working with Pf. Ramin Takloo-Bighash, who is my thesis advisor from the summer of 2015.
My main research interest is, broadly speaking, number theory, more specifically automorphic forms and periodicities of multidimensional continued fractions.
I did my undergraduate degree and master degree in math in Ewha Womans University in Seoul, Korea, where I am from.
You can see more on my mathematical background and much more on my CV.
Other than math, I like listening to music, playing the piano (although I am in very beginner level), and walking.
My music taste is rather classical, and Chicago has great varieties of world-class classical music venues, such as Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Lyric Opera of Chicago.
My favorite composer is Mozart for his lively music.
However, as I am in Chicago which is also well known for jazz and blues, I am trying to broaden my musical appitite.
I am a member of Art Institute of Chicago. This is my favorite place in Chicago, and I try to go there quite often. Recently, they had special exhibition on Degas, which was quite fascinating.
I am quite into impressionism, and my 3 favorite artists are Van Gogh, Renoir, and Monet. I love to see how they use colors and how they present similar things differently.
Although my knowledge on fine art is minimal, I would love to learn more.
I also love traveling. As of today, I have been to 34 countries. I will try to post some pictures sometime soon.
The list of countries I have been to is as follows (in alphabetical order):
Hopefully this brief introduction gives you a slight hint on who I am.
