\item{Description:} This two credit hour course assists teaching assistants in improving teaching skills and in addressing problems that may arise in the classroom. 

We will also discuss various issues of importance to   students beginning their graduate studies at UIC, such as learning \TeX and \LaTeX, preparing your CV, preparing a Teaching Portfolio, using Beamer for presentations, deciding your area or research interests, joining professional organizations, attending conferences and so forth.
