Coarse cohomology for families
by James L. Heitsch and Steven Hurder

HISTORY:

The operator algebras families approach to the proof of the Novikov Conjecture suggested that there should be a coarse cohomology theory corresponding to the coarse K-theory methods pioneered by Higson and Roe.

Work on this project begin in 1993, and the first provisional draft of the paper was written in 1994. The current version was completed in November 1998, and submitted to the Illinois Journal of Math. The paper went through two revisions, aimed at improving the exposition, and giving more details and supporting comments. The posted version is dated from May 2000.
