ODEs in mechanics

In this lab session we used Maple to solve some ordinary differential equations and we illustrated the building of a simple animation.

Maple's command to solve ordinary differential equations is dsolve. We translated the first two sections of chapter 9 into Maple, using the problems and examples from the textbook.

We will start the next lecture with an example of deriving differential equations with the methods of Newton and Hamilton.
