Web Site: Announcements concerning this class will be available at

www.math.uic/~jbaldwin

Calendar: The class will meet promptly at 4:00, MW and Th or F in 600 SEO.

Homework: You must attend class to get the homework assignment if you are to turn in that assignment for credit. If you miss class it is your responsibility to get a copy of the homework

and learn it. But you will not get credit for the homework. (Your three lowest grades

on the homework will be discarded.)

Text: There is no text: we will work from classroom presentations and auxiliary materials handed out by the instructor.

Exams: There will be two hourly exams and a final. The course grade will be based

on the homework, the final exam, the hour exams, and your classroom

performance. The homework will be the most important factor.

Your overall performance will be evaluated by the instructor.

Equipment: You must provide a flexible ruler, compass and protractor.

Calculator: Each student must have a TI-83 calculator.

Attendance: In a course of this nature where the lack of a text means you can't just `catch up',

attendance is mandatory. Class meets promptly at 4:00 PM in 600 SEO.
