The Statistical Laboratory was established in 1985. It is a joint faculty-graduate student enterprise at the University of Illinois at Chicago, Department of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science. Currently we have seven faculty members and about thirty graduate students. We provide statistical consulting service for faculty, staff and graduate students inside or outside the university. The current directors of the lab are Professors Jing Wang and Jie Yang.
We provide expertise in a wide variety of areas of statistics, probability, and operations research including:
- Statistical Data Analysis
- Design of Experiments
- Survey Sampling
- Linear and Nonlinear Modelling
- Linear and Nonlinear Programming
- Reliability
Once a consulting request is accepted, a team consisting of two or three graduate students will work on the project under the supervision of the faculty members.
If you need statistical advice or consultation, please fill out a brief doc form and email it to Professor Jing Wang. Our goal is to contact you within three business days to address your questions and/or to arrange a meeting.
Note: The lab operates during the fall and spring semesters and is closed during the summer. Click here for the university calendar.
