Announcements:
- (12/1) There will be a study/review session on Wed
Dec 7 from 5pm to 7pm in SEO 512. Notice that the doors
of SEO builduing lock at 6pm.
- (12/1) The final exam is scheduled from 1pm to 3pm
on Thu Dec 8 in the Lecture Center, room D1.

- (11/09) The solutions for Exam #2 are posted here
(PDF). The average score = 62.
- (10/10) I am out of town. Please, hand in the homework to
my substitute.

has been fixed.
- (9/28) The solutions for Exam #1 are posted here
(PDF). The average score = 66.
- (9/7) Change in homework policy:
- during the first 5-10 minutes of each class 2-3 (randomly
picked) students will be asked to write a solution to one
of the HW problems on the board;
- the HW will still be collected (on Mondays) and checked
for completeness.
- (8/28) There are going to be 10-15-minute weekly
quizzes on Fridays at the end of class. These will
be graded (max score = 10) and returned.
- (8/28) Every Monday the previous week's homework
is due at the beginning of the class. All HW
turned in after this point and by the
beginning of the following Wednesday's class is considered
late and is penalized by reducing the score
by 20%.
After the Labor day, on Wed Sept 7, please, hand in the assigments
for the first two weeks.
- (8/28) Out of all quizzes the worst two scores
will be dropped. The total sum of the scores
will be rescaled to make (max) 100 points, 50 for homework and
50 for quizzes.
- (8/18) I will be out of town for the first week of classes.
