This program is intended for teachers interested in mathematics for the middle grades (4-8) and for mathematics specialists and supervisors. Candidates are expected to hold appropriate licensure or to provide for it in the program. Normally, candidates will have at least 2 years teaching experience.
Typically, students in the program take six credit hours of classes during each of three summers. Fourteen credits are earned in classes taken in the evening during two academic years; these classes are offered over the Iowa Communications Network, which allows for two-way audio and video.
