The M.A.T. degree is a cooperative venture between UVM's Department of Mathematics & Statistics and the College of Education & Social Services. The M.A.T. is intended for individuals who are licensed teachers, although it is possible to obtain Vermont licensure while completing this degree through a program of courses and training tailored to the individual's background and needs.
For detailed information see the program's own webpage at http://www.emba.uvm.edu/EM/Math
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics also offers programs leading to a Master of Science in Mathematics, Master of Science in Teaching, Master of Science in Statistics or Biostatistics, and Doctor of Philosophy in the Mathematical Sciences. All our programs emphasize a blend of applied and pure mathematics, and highlight the interaction between theory, application, and computation.
