Homework: Weekly homework assignments will be handed out each Friday, and they are due in class the following Friday. Each set will consist of exercises from the text (with solutions in the back of the book, not to be turned in) and exercises to be handed in. Please write your solutions clearly and carefully. If you have to miss class that day, you can turn in your assignment early to my box in SEO 304. Late homework will not be accepted. The lowest score will be dropped at the end of the semester.
Collaboration: You are strongly encouraged to discuss homework problems with your fellow students. However, you have to write up your solutions by yourselves.
Exams and Grading: We will have two midterms, on Friday September 26 and Friday October 31, during regular class hours. The final exam will be on Monday, December 8, 1-3pm, in our usual classroom AH 306.
Final Grade: Your final grade will be based on your performance on homework (20%), midterms (20% each) and final exam (40%).
