Grades will be based on two midterm exams, final exam and homework assigned at regular intervals. Homework problems will be posted on this site.
HW1: Read chapters 1 and 2. Solve problems 1.2-1.4, 2.1-2.5, do not submit. Problems due Wednesday, Jan. 20.
HW2: Read chapters 3 and 4. Solve problems 1.5, 3.1-3.8, do not submit. Problems due Friday, Jan. 29.
HW3: Read chapter 5. Solve problems 5.1, 5.2, 5.4, 5.6, do not submit. Problems ## 12, 14, 17, 19 from pp. 54-56 are due Monday, Feb. 8. (Solution)
HW4: Read chapters 6 and 7. Solve problems 6.2-6.6, 7.1-7.6, do not submit. Problems due Friday, Feb. 19.
Class canceled on March, 8: furlough day
HW5: Read chapters 8 and 9. Solve problems 8.1, 8.3, 8.5, 9.1, 9.2, 9.4, do not submit. Problems ## 15, 16, 18 from pp. 117-118 are due Monday, March 15 (postponed).
HW6: Read chapters 10, 11. Do 10.1, 10.3, 10.4, 11.2-11.5. Submit 10.3, 11.2, 11.4 on Friday April 2nd.
HW7: Read chapters 12, 13, 14. Solve problems 12.2, 12.5, 13.2, 13.5, 14.1, do not submit . Problems 12.6, 13.1, 14.3 are due Wednesday, April 21.
