TOPICS: Basic notions of group theory, examples of groups, homomorphisms, quotient groups, group actions; rings and fields as time permits.

Grading system:

The course grade is based on the total score from homework (30%), quizzes (extra credit), midterm exam (30%) and the final exam (40%). Homework assignments will be posted on this page.
