The cheapest way to get to Chicago from anywhere in the Midwest is Megabus. Megabus tickets tickets are as low as $1 if you purchase them as soon as they are available. Amtrack is another good option. Both Amtrak and Megabus will drop you off at Union Station, which is only a few blocks from UIC.
