Basic topics covered: Structure of groups, Sylow theorems, solvable groups; structure of rings, projective and injective modules, finitely generated modules over a PID.
Credit hours: 4 graduate

Prerequisites: Math 330 and 425.

Homework: Written assignments due on at the beginning of class on indicated dates. No late homework accepted. Solutions to written homework problems will be posted on the course homepage.
It is suggested that you do as many of the practice problems in the text as you can. These are NOT to be turned in.
