Description:

Complex numbers, analytic functions, complex integration, Taylor and Laurent series, residue calculus, branch cuts, conformal mapping, argument principle, Rouche's theorem, Poisson integral formula, analytic continuation. Prerequisite: Grade C or better in Math 210. Textbook by J. Brown and R. Churchill “Complex variables and Applications” 7th edition.

Testing system:

Homework assignments -- given every week and are due Friday the following week. Exercised will be graded selectively. Two 1 hour exams - 100pts each. Final - 150pts. Homework - 100pts. Total - 450pts.

The first one hour exam will be given on October 5. It will include Chapters 1,2,3, and the part of Ch 4 covered before the exam.
