Text  Folland, Real Analysis : Modern Techniques and Their Applications (Pure and Applied Mathematics: A Wiley-Interscience Series of Texts, Monographs and Tracts)  Second Edition


We will cover chapters 1, 2, 3.1, 3.2,  on measure and integration and 4.7, 5.5, Thm 6.6, and parts of 8.3 (Hilbert Spaces and L^2).  

You are expected to know the material in chapter 0 already.


Grading:           Homework       40%

                          Mid-Term        20%  

                          Final                 40%


There will be one midterm, in the 8th week (roughly) -- exact date  TBA
