A story my grandfather told

Three widows who were mutually acquainted ran into one another in Miami Beach. This was back in the 1950's when a big hotel was going up every year. One of the women boasted, "I'm staying at the Fountainblue," giving the name of the hotel that had opened just the year before. One of her acquaintances was one up on her: "I'm at the Tropicana," or whatever the name of the hotel was that had opened that very year. They looked at the third woman to see how she could possibly top that. She shrugged: "I'm under construction."
