CV (Last Updated at August 2025)

I'm a sixth-year PhD student in pure mathematics at the University of Illinois at Chicago. I'm studying geometric group theory under the supervision of Daniel Groves. I will be on the postdoc job market in Fall 2025!

Research

I study geometric group theory, the study of groups through their actions on metric spaces. I am particularly interested in groups that act by isometries on hyperbolic metric spaces. My research focuses on the following main areas:

  • relatively hyperbolic groups, in particular relative Dehn fillings and the applications
  • acylindrically hyperbolic groups and possible notions of quasicovex subgroups of them

I'm also interested in the following areas:

  • hierarchically hyperbolic groups and spaces, which include mapping class groups, fundamental groups of 3-manifolds, and CAT(0) cubical groups

Here you can find a poster on my paper in preparation: A notion of quasi-convex subgroups in acylindrically hyperbolic groups.
