ITL Introduction to Presenting Mathematics on the Web
ITL Introduction to Presenting Mathematics on the Web

Mathematicians like to wrote mathematics using TEX, a mathematical typesetting language developed by Donald Knuth.
Here is a sample of a TEX document:
texsample.tex
The TEX program produces a dvi (DeVice Independent) file which looks like
texsample.dvi
Actually I converted texsample.dvi to
texsample.pdf
using dvipdfm, developed by Mark A. Wicks.
The reader (student) may or may not have a "pdf viewer" such as Acrobat Reader and so may easily download
texsample.htm
The html file was produced from the TEX source with TtH, a filter developed by Ian Hutchinson. Mathematics is typeset using tables and uses the symbol fonts available to most browsers.
The methods are discussed in
production.pdf
and
production.htm

File translated from TEX by TTH, version 3.74.
